AWD vehicles are more expensive to buy and more expensive to maintain. Their gas mileage is inherently poorer. Only ranchers, farmers, contractors and those in the construction trades need to even think about an AWD vehicle. A major reason for our increased gas prices is the perceived need by soccer moms that they must have an AWD SUV in a color that matches their cell phones.
